What is The Beta Stage?
The Beta Stage is a blog where Brad Levinson, a new media campaign professional, explores the role of new media and online marketing in life, culture, politics and current events.
What Does “Beta Stage” Mean?
The name “beta stage” references the time in a product development cycle – called the beta stage – where a new offering offering is ready to be tested by a small group of people.
According to Wikipedia:
“The process of delivering a beta version to the users is called beta release and this is typically the first time that the software is available outside of the organization that developed it.”
“The users of a beta version are called beta testers. They are usually customers or prospective customers of the organization that develops the software, willing to test the software without charge.”
I call this blog “The Beta Stage” because the web is in a perpetual beta mode. We have to constantly explore and evaluate what’s offered to us, and to test and evaluate new ways of communicating.
